In an Article that I read on the Monroe News Star website( copy AND PASTE THIS LINK >http://www.thenewsstar.com/story/news/local/2017/10/23/monroe-bus-rate-increase-goes-before-council-tuesday/791699001/ , " MAYOR JAMIE MAYO DIDN'T TELL THE WHOLE TRUTH! " When Mayor Mayo said that some of the people who ride the Monroe City Buses were in favor of a bus fair increase," HE FORGOT TO MENTION " THAT THE CITY BUS RIDERS AGREED TO THE " FAIR INCREASES " BASED ON ALL OF THE " BUS ROUTES " STAYING AS THEY WERE { especially the " NIGHT RIDERS " ROUTE } !!! Sadly, some of the bus routes have been combined with others, and some have been altered as well.Therefore, it is plain to see that the bus riders did not agree to a price increase based on " THE CURRENT " routes !!! Also, the bus riders did not agree to the pitiful service that is being provided by the Monroe Transit System. The buses are still " DELIBERATELY " leaving passengers behind( causing them to miss their connecting bus ! When you call to complain on a RUDE and DISRESPECTFUL bus driver, you probably won't ever get the supervisor to call you back [ on Saturday, October 21, 2017 the other buses pulled out from the " DOWNTOWN " terminal two or three times without allowing the " WHITE STREET " bus to make it there, in order for the passengers on the " WHITE STREET " bus to make it to their connecting buses .The management never called any of the passengers to apologize at all ! ].Additionally, some of the buses are failing to get the required service and MANY TIMES THE SMALLER BUSES ARE BEING USED WHEN THE LARGER BUSES SHOULD HAVE OBVIOUSLY BEEN USED TO RUN THE BUS ROUTES ! Futhermore, the " STANDDOWN " stops have also caused problems and are sometimes unnecessary ! So, Mayor Mayo did not tell the " WHOLE TRUTH " about some of the the " BUS RIDERS " being ok with the bus fair increases that were proposed to the Monroe City Council. NOTE : Ouachita Police Jurors O. Reddix ,P. Moore, and the Mayor of Richwood were in attendance AT THE MEETING WHERE SOME OF THE BUS RIDERS RAISED THEIR HANDS IN AGREEMENT TO A PRICE INCREASE BASED ON QUALITY SERVICE AND THE BUS ROUTES REMAINING AS THEY WERE ! PS : I think that there should be an Independent Investigation into the " OPERATIONS " of the Monroe Transit System, and there should also be an Independent Investigation of the Monroe Transit's Financial Records !
